Diary report of being in India, october 17th

Daily report, 17.10.2013 by Gerrit
This day began like every day in India: We stood up at 7 o’clock and drove with Nishant at 8 o’clock to the old Gupta house for breakfast. We finished our breakfast at 8.30 and drove after that to school. We arrived there at 8.40. We had to wait there until everybody reached school. After that we celebrated Tomkes’ birthday with our exchange students and the Indian teacher: We sang “Happy Birthday” and another song and she got a cake by the exchange students.
From 9.30 to 10.30 the German group had time for preparing the presentation of the song “Hallelujah”. I think it was very nice. After that we did our projects in our groups for the presentation. In my group were Tim, Vitus, Nishant and Issue. We made our PowerPoint-presentation and searched for a few pictures.
In the afternoon we left the school at 2 o’clock. Nishant drove us home where we had free time until 5 o’clock. At 5 o’clock Ishu and Paramveer came with their exchange students for a small party at our house. We ate dinner together and listened music and had much fun. It was a very nice evening because we had just time to talk with our Indian students and we were able to relax.
At 9 o’clock the guests left and Luis, Vitus, Manik, Nishant and I played table soccer. Finally we listened music in our bedroom and slept.

 October 17th, Henriette
In the morning we had to wake up early because we all met in school at 8 am. Because it was Tomke's birthday, the Indian and German students and teachers came together, sang "Happy Birthday" for her and gave her a delicious chocolate cake. After this we German students practiced the song "Hallelujah" for our presentations on the next days. At 10:30 am we continued the project work with the Indian students. We worked on Computers or in the library. At 2 pm school was finished and everyone drove home. In the afternoon many of us visited a market in Sangrur. There we bought shoes and jewelleries. We enjoyed it very much to see the colourful shops. In the evening we went with some students to a marriage. Because we are from Germany we had to dance and everyone wanted pictures of us. That was really interesting and exciting because there were so many Indian people and we could see a traditional Indian celebration which is very different from a German marriage. After having dinner at our host families we all went to bed.
