Diary report of being in India, october 10 th and 11 th

Daily Report of the 10th and 11th october 2013 , Fabian
Today we start our journey to India and meet the indian exchange partners. Everyone was very excited and wants to see where we live the next two weeks. We started in Bremen at the airport to fly to Istanbul, the capital of turkey. After three hours in airplane, where the comfortability of the seats was not very good, finally we arrived at the airport in Istanbul. Just after a few minutes everyone was able to see, that the air was a bit sticky. The next trip with another airplane, where the comfortability was much more better than in the plane before, goes to the capital of India, called Delhi. Being there we see our indian exchange partners with a big poster and some roses in their hands. Our next step to Sangrur was to travel with a bus ten hours through India. Everyone was very tired and tried to sleep, but we where now in a country that nobody ever sees before and so at the beginning everyone was watching outside the windows and take a look to the different nature and the inhabitants. This trip with bus and airplane was very interesting, but of course also hard. So time after time everybody falls asleep for a few minutes or hours and relaxed a little bit. In the evening we arrived at the Vasant Valley Public School, which is the school of our exchange partners. At this place our ways splits and everyone went home with their indian familiy.

Report on our journey to India 10.10.2013 & 11.10.2013, Rieke
Our way to India started at the airport of Bremen. We all got there in time and checked in as a group. After that we had still enough time to eat or drink something. Many of us used this last chance to eat some "German" foot. We were so excited about our journey's start! After we all got through the security check our adventure had really begun. Our first flight from Bremen to Istanbul took just 3 hours so we could see the beautiful sunset over the city. We had one short stay at the airport but our next flight wasn't far to come. This gave as the chance to buy something to drink and chill out on the floor in the waiting room. The flight from Istanbul to India took much longer than our first one. We had to wait one hour until our airplane took finally off. After six hours we landed safely in Delhi. When we got out of the airplane we were shocked over the heat. The sun was just raising and it was already so hot. Although it was so early in the morning the airport was already crowded with people. It was a big relief for us that our suitcases arrived all safely. Even if we had some problems with a red suitcase in the meantime, at the end we had been greeted so warmly from our Indian exchange students. They painted big posters for us welcoming us in India. They waited just outside the airport for us. As a present we all got sweets and a rose. With a public bus we left for a parking space where our real tour bus was already waiting for us. While we were in the streets of Delhi we got caught in a monsoon rain. You couldn’t look out of the bus window anymore because the rain was so strong waterfalls went down on the windows. The streets were flooded. For breakfast we made a stop in a youth hostel where we will stay at our last night in India as well. We had to run through the strong rain to get there. Afterwards we started our way to Sangrur. It was a really long bus tour but our exchange partner provided us drinks and foot. The Indian traffic was a shocking experience for us. It seemed so chaotic. At sunset we finally arrived Vasant Valley Public School where the families were already waiting for us. They greeted us so warmly, too. Our long journey was finally over and we went home to our host families. We were all so excited but also very tired after almost two days travelling.
