Wednesday morning we got up at half
past seven, brushed our teeth, got dressed, ate a piece of bread and went
then punctually to school where we first had to wait for ages until finally
everybody has arrived. Then we started with our project work by deciding which
theme to take and doing a little bit of research. But shortly afterwards we
went to have a small meal which was some noodles which were really delicious.
Then our whole group sang a birthday song for Tomke which we recorded so that
Conny could play it for her at midnight when Tomke turned 18. Afterwards we
started presenting our presentations about for example German architecture,
soccer or the comparism of mobility in Germany and India. The last theme listed
was the presentation of my group including Dorthe and Gerrit. First we had a
few problems with opening our graphics from our usb-stick but we found a
solution for that problem as fast as posssible so that we could finally present
our results. At two school was already over and we were picked up by our host mother
and father. When we reached home we had a little to eat and got then an hour to
rest which Dorthe used to read a book, Praneta to watch TV and I to take a
short nap. Then a friend of school of Praneta came over to say hi and meet us
for a few minutes. When she was gone, we changed our clothes, because we had to
wear something more formal for a reception of a wedding we went to later on.
But first we drove about 45 minutes to a shopping centre where our host family
was so friendly to offer us to buy us a suit. So we went into a shop and chose
the type of cloth and stitching we liked most, were measured by the lady who
would later stitch the suits to tour bodies perfectly. We were so thankful and
the suits would be ready on saturday so that Peeyush, our host brother who is
studying in that town, could collect them on his way to his visit of the family
on Saturday. Dorthe and I were so happy and bought then the typical Indian
wrist rings matching to our suits. My suit was golden with pink Punjabi pants
and Dorthe’s was black with red pockadots on it. After being finished with
shopping we drobe about five minutes to the reception. The reception is a kind
of aftermarriage. The couple has married ten days ago with many people and will
now present each other as new people and show their new life. Then they would
go on their honeymoon. The reception was really nice because there was none
really staring at us because we didn’t look like them. We loved the food there
as well because it just was so delicious! It was really, really nice. The bride
was really pretty and Dorthe and I were impressed by her dress because it was
so shiny but still beautiful. After a nice day and a very enjoyable evening we
drove tired but satisfied one and fell right away into our beds.
Daily report 16th October 2013, Brit
Today we got up at 8 am and had our breakfast,
after that we met with the other students at 9 o`clock in the morning at
school. There we had a guided tour by our exchange students through Vasant
Valley Public School, it was very nice. After that we went into mixed groups of
German and Indian pupils to choose a theme for our work, which should be about
the topic of agriculture. Our German group prepared some presentations about
themes, like music, food and history in Germany, which we presented in class to
Indian students. We left school after lunch, we ate noodles and rise with three
different sauces, it was tasty but also very spicy. In the afternoon the whole
group and our host families visited ´Saras Mela`, a celebration with music,
theatre, singing and a market, were we could buy clothes, jewelleries and food.
In the evening my exchange student went to the home of Aine, the exchange student
of Tomke P. and Henriette. There we played cards and had some snacks. For
Dinner we went to ´LC` with them, an Indian fast-food restaurant, where we had
some tasty burger and french fries. It was a really nice day.
