Diary report of being in India, 13th october

13th october , Jan-Ole
This morning we slept very long. We met the other student at 11am in school. After everyone arrived we started a trip with the bus to the farm of Mr. Pushpinder Singh. On the farm we had the chance to use a paddleboat on a lake in front of his house. His house was very big and he has a lot of squaremeters of fields. Because it was very hot the most students sit first in the shadows and relaxed. On the afternoon we went with a tractor to one of Mr. Pushpinder Singh's dairy farms. On this dairy farm we saw lots of cows and a few little calves. After that we had an indian lunch with a lot of different foods from all the host families. With my host family and a few other students I went after the visit of the farm house to two Gurudwara (sikh temple). The first one was smaller than we second. In front of the second temple was a hugh water basin. The temple was built in 1616 and as a honor for the builder there was a tree from this year. For the end of this day my host family, Brit and me went to a restaurant. It was a really great day and I am looking forward to the next days.

Sunday 13th october, Ines
After having woke up everybody's day started with the celebration of 'Dussehra'. Indian celebrates the death of the devil. Every German student was a part of this religious ritual. After finishing we had breakfast and again it was a big meal with a lot of food. Then we went to school to meet the whole group to visit a farm house. The owner of its was an Indian millionaire who earned much money by establishing a big Company in India and USA. It was impressive how nice and friendly he welcomed us in his great house. We were allowed to take the boat and paddle on his little lake. After sitting a while at his garden he asked us to drive to his Farm. We drove there by a tractor through a small village. In this village the man was born, the citizens came out of their houses to see us and say hello. At the farm we had a leading and take a lot of pictures. Getting back by tractor we drove again through the small village, the children follow us to the farm house. In the garden we had some vegetarian burgers and other indian food. We took a lot of group pictures with the man's daughters. After driving home some of us went to the City and watched a "show". It showed three statues which get burned and fireworks. It is a ritual for Dussehra. When we reached our host families we have to pack our bags for the trip tomorrow.
